Love for Grimm

3 min read
I don't know how popular the show is here in Australia, but I have been so happy to see the show Grimm on TV, it only started a few weeks ago in Australia, I believe its entering its 3rd season or nearing end of second season in the US?

Anyway, really  love the show, completely love the character Eddie Monroe the Blutbad. Ive seen some impossibly cute fan art of the show and Monroe here on deviant art, thanks  fellow Devs!

So mu ch love for the show, Grimm tales have always been such a big part of my life and cultural identity, and I love crime shows so its fun seeing them together. Now I want to learn the cello again! I wanted to take it up as a teen but it never happened, too expensive I think perhaps, and a lack of spare time.

Today I was checking out Etsy, I had actually completely forgotten I have a profile on there! I am thinking of listing some things on there, since eBay can be a bit of a hassle. My Etsy profile is www.etsy.com/people/RomanceNoi… if you are on Etsy and want to friend me <3

I start uni again next week...not sure I am ready to go back, these holidays have gone so quickly. I did go to a few museums, I wanted to go see the pre-Raphaelite exhibition at NSW Art Gallery, maybe I will get there this week. This semester at uni I am taking 3 subjects, I really hope it's not going to be too much, because my son needs a lot of attention, and I always worry I don't spend enough time with him. Hopefully I will be able to juggle everything. I just want to get my degree finished, studying part time has really dragged out the last few years.

I bought a really cute dress yesterday, it has a little floral pattern all over it. It's a white fabric with pink roses. It is kind of Lolita, but a bit more mellow, not so many frills. I really like the little tie at the neck it has, if I have time I might take a photo.

I also bought some cute little owl rubber stamps for my son, he has been having so much fun stamping paper with them. They have four different owls on them, one has a little hat, one has glasses and one has an apron. I got them at a stationary store called Kiki-K, I also got this craft paper and shapes with owls and trees from there, he made a few collages with the shapes, it's really nice to see him enjoying craft, and I got to do some stamping and gluing with him ^_^

Today I attended SMASH (Sydney Manga and Anime Show) as a vendor. Had a great day, saw so many really cool cos-plays. My favorite was a guy dressed as a convincing Sebastian from Black Butler, complete with a cup of tea and saucer. There was an excellent Scyther Pokemon. There were many more very good ones, many I have to admit I didn't know, but I thought they looked good hehe, haven't watched much anime in a long time.

I sold some accessories I have been making like gloves, arm warmers, head bows and pencil cases, and some little pushies. Had a lot of fun, it was my first anime convention as a vendor, and I might be at Animania if we can get a stall. I held the stall with my friend Frejya, who makes Gothic&Lolita head-dresses.

Met a few other cool stall holder people, Squeakysun who designs her own toy characters and does some fan art on deviant art and another who does fan art.

Was so tired by the end of the day, we were there about 9 hours I think. So glad to be home, but it was fun. I wish I had thought to take my camera along to take photos!

I've updated my website again, it now has the option to order items by online shopping, just with PayPay at the moment. I am pretty happy with the site, but I have been tweaking it here and there to try and improve it ( www.wix.com/romancenoir/romance-noir ).

I finished all my exams for the year so happy, oh yeah.

I bought some new material in the aim of making somethings, not really sure what I'm going to make, I got black tartan, pink tartan, silver sider web on black sheer, zebra print satin (oh yeah it's bold alright). Anyway...hopefully I will manage to make some things.

I did start making a cyber armour outfit from silver pvc. I'm really not sure if it will look good or not.

In other news I sold a little bit of clothing recently, I sold the pin-striped lolita dress, I saw a girl wearing it at UTBM, and she looked so adorable. I also sold the red and black striped bustle skirt, some ties and chokers and gloves, as well as that recent commission.

My mum is giving me a $100 or a $150 spotlight card for my birthday, yay new material here I come. You wouldn't belive how much money I spend on material. half of it I haven't even go around to using yet :S

I am still d/l the new WoW patch before WoLK comes out only 30% left *sigh* can't play anyway too much work to do.

-Uni-

The semester at uni is almost over, I have one more essay due on the 3oth october, and then one exam. There is so much to study for that single exam, the course is Ancient Mesopotamia. I really love the couse though, it's very interesting. I did my essays for it on Isin-Larsa Ur and on Assyrian Figurines. I'm really looking forward to the couse on Ancient Iran. I wanted to take a subject on the Levant too, but there isn't one running next year, so I will have to wait until the year after if I wan to do it. I'm not sure if I even have enough electives to take it anyway. I think I used up my last elective on a geology subject GIS hazard mapping (advanced).

I was talking to the course co-ordinator at geology and they think I might have to change degree if I want to work as a geologist T_T I really don't want to change my degree again. I don't think I have enough HECS years left to do a double degree...I really wanted to keep the option open to do Archeology too, so really not sure what I am going to do. I finish Archaelogy next year, so i guess I will see if my marks are high enough to do Honours so I have a chance at a PhD, I guess if they aren't I can enrol in geology *cry*. Otherwise I am thinking of just doing a Dip. Science in Geography, because I already have over a year of science subjects, so with my Geology major it will even out to a 3 year Science degree, and i won't have to do the extra year of Arts or extra 6 months actually.

Anyway hopefully it will all work out soon.
